Here are some differences between wet ceramic fiber blanket and dry ceramic fiber blanket:
1. Wet ceramic fiber blanket
Wet Ceramic fiber blanket, ceramic fiber board adopts injection cotton as raw material and the process of crashing - slagging - mixing - copying - vacuum suction - molding - drying, made by vacuum forming technology.

Ceramic fiber vacuum forming wet blanket is a lightweight and flexible insulating refractory fiber material, combined with organic binder by high purity refractory oxide (Al2O3 and SiO2); Wet molding ceramic fiber board is a kind of rigid insulation refractory fiber material, which has the same composition as the wet blanket. But the material proportion between refractory fiber cotton and the refractory powder is slightly different.

Besides the excellent properties, wet ceramic fiber blanket perform with good strength and elasticity. It is a kind of multi-functional product which is applicable for kiln and boiler wall dilatation joints and high temperature gaskets. When used as gaskets, its good resistance to molten metal penetration is suitable for the steel ingot bottom sealing gasket, stopper core and aluminum billet casting gasket.

2. Dry ceramic fiber board
Dry ceramic fiber board is made up of ceramic fiber cotton combined with blowing and hot blast agent in the process, then cut to sheet forming aluminum silicate.

Now let’s take a look at the differences between dry and wet forming ceramic fiber board:
A. dry blanket has low and loose density and easily get damaged in transporting;
B. it is difficult for secondary processing;
C. It is easy to deform and with short service life.
D. The dry blanket is used in high temperature for insulation. After a period of time, it is easy to spread, even pulverize.
E. Its price is low.
